In the heart of Kibbutz Nir Oz, during the 2023 massacre, 'Mamad' tells the harrowing true story of Almog, a young mom caught in a safe room when her neighborhood comes under attack by Hamas. As a barrage of rocket fire intensifies, Almog finds herself in a mamad, which is a reinforced room in a house, meant to shield her from rockets, but it can't be locked from the inside, leaving her vulnerable to the invaders. She needs to keep her two young children and mom (Savta) quiet so the terrorists won’t hear them, all the while clutching the door handle to prevent the murderers from entering the room.
