Echo Immersion
Navigating the reverberations of the Atlantic Slave Trade through body, sound, and memory.
ECHO Immersion is an interactive installation that brings audiences into a living, sensory environment shaped by the history and ongoing reverberations of the transatlantic slave trade. Moving through interconnected spaces of sound, image, and responsive technology, visitors navigate the work through body and presence, becoming active participants in a system that unfolds in real time.
At the center of the work is a guiding understanding: the body carries memory where the official archive does not. Drawing on choreography, spatial sound, and ancestral algorithms, embodied patterns of rhythm and gesture that carry cultural memory across time, ECHO Immersion proposes that what cannot be recorded can still be felt, and that technology can be reshaped by the very knowledge it was never designed to hold.
