Visual Truth Matters is a national public-interest initiative dedicated to protecting and preserving America’s visual history at a time of increasing institutional erasure. The project operates across three core pillars: storytelling and public awareness, ethical preservation, and advocacy. Through impact-driven visual storytelling, Visual Truth Matters raises public awareness about the ongoing removal and alteration of American history. Through preservation efforts, it builds accessible, community-centered archives that safeguard photos, videos, and written narratives for public access. Through advocacy, the initiative documents patterns of erasure and works with cultural and historical stakeholders to equip the public with tools to demand transparency and accountability.
