The Professor (WT)-Optimist Films
The founding father of microfinance, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus is one of the most awarded humanitarians of all time. As the pioneer of microcredit, he’s known as the “banker to the poor” and credited with lifting millions of people out of extreme poverty. He’s the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Congressional Gold Medal, and over 50 honorary doctorates. January 14th was even declared “Muhammad Yunus Day'' in the U.S.
“The Professor (WT) ” tells the story of Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, the most awarded humanitarian of all time and founding father of microfinance. This short documentary intimately captures the trials and campaign for Muhammad Yunus’s freedom, as he navigates the 150 charges against him. Yunus and his two daughters are on a mission to rally Western business and political leaders to help in this fight.
