The Project Gallery is a collection of projects produced by members of our fiscal sponsorship program and other Creative Visions impact media programs. This includes projects that are currently in production, as well as completed projects.
Addictions
Three lives. Three addictions. One chance to break free.
Addictions is a trilogy of one-act plays exploring alcoholism, smoking and addiction to fame through three compelling, darkly comic stories. Drawing on lived experience, the plays use humour and drama to challenge stigma, expose the destructive nature of addiction and, importantly, show that recovery is possible.
The project will culminate in a professional 2.5-week London production at the Playground Theatre following a three-week rehearsal period. Addictions has previously demonstrated its social-impact and fundraising potential: a celebrity benefit performance in New York raised approximately $170,000 for Caron Treatment Centers. The London production aims to engage both general theatre audiences and those affected by addiction, stimulate conversation around addiction and recovery, and provide a platform for the work’s future life and impact.
