The film The Things that Rot tells the story of Black-Iranian Cape Town based 11-year-old Pegah is a ballet dancer prepping for her first solo show as her tooth begins to ache, she needs to get her parents’ attention to have it checked but her family is absorbed by the news of war in their home country, Iran.
