Blind Terror – Russian Interference in Georgia
From Stalin's tanks to riot police on Rustaveli Avenue, Blind Terror traces how Russia has spent a century trying to own Georgia.
Blind Terror is an in-progress documentary and written investigation tracing Russian interference in Georgia from the Soviet occupation of 1921 to the mass protests unfolding today.
At its heart is a question of survival: can a small nation hold onto its identity, its democracy, and its future against a neighbour that has never stopped trying to take them away, and what does this mean for Europe?
Grounded in months of research and investigation, the project draws on testimony from historians, protest leaders, journalists, a dissident priest, and IDPs from Abkhazia. It connects Georgia’s crisis to a broader pattern of Russian foreign policy visible across Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, and argues that Georgia in 2008 was a warning the world failed to heed.
Intimate and rigorous, Blind Terror is made for audiences encountering this story for the first time, and for those who need to understand its depth.
