Man Legend Hero Dad
'Man Legend Hero Dad' traces the life of Robert “Buck” Halperin - war hero, elite athlete, Olympic medalist, entrepreneur - as told by his filmmaker son. The film explores Buck’s achievements – playing college football at Notre Dame for Knute Rockne and in the NFL, to playing a significant role in WWII invasions like D-Day, for which he was awarded The Navy Cross and cited as a forefather of today’s Navy SEALS, to commanding 2,500 Chinese guerillas operating behind enemy lines in China, to winning a Bronze medal in the 1960 Olympics and Gold in the 1963 Pan American Games, to co-founding Lands’ End - illuminating Buck’s sense of duty, perseverance and courage even in the face of discrimination, unfavorable odds and tragedy. At its heart, this is a son’s love letter to the man who gave him everything, and a desire to pass that message on to generations to come.
