Facing the Falls Educational Initiative
A film-based education initiative building resilience, inclusion, and belonging.
Facing the Falls Educational Initiative uses a completed 34-minute documentary as the catalyst for a free educational and social impact campaign that helps learners build resilience, empathy, disability inclusion, leadership, teamwork, and belonging. The first stage of the initiative is a grades 6–12 school pilot, supported by a classroom-ready School Resource Guide designed for Social Studies, English, and Physical Education/Health. The guide equips teachers with discussion prompts, reflection exercises, writing assignments, inclusive PE activities, field trip ideas, community service opportunities, and additional disability resources.
While the first phase is focused on middle and high school students, the broader vision is to adapt the initiative for universities, corporate learning environments, employee resource groups, and leadership development programs. At its heart, the project uses storytelling, reflection, and practical learning tools to help people of all ages explore courage, fear, access, advocacy, emotional safety, adaptive adventure, and what it means to create communities where everyone can participate and belong.
