latest news
Four volunteers traveled to Cura recently to work and play with the Home's children, both in school and out. We delivered educational, athletic, technological, health and cooking supplies that are all being put to excellent use by the school, the Home and the community leaders. On the US side, two fundraisers have been enormous successes: the premiere of The Sorcerer's Apprentice raised enough money to build a secondary school for the village, and a Seattle-area organic farm dinner raised enough to add a rabbit hutch to the Home existing livestock enclosure.
Project Summary
Cura Orphanage is a residence for children who have lost their parents to AIDS.
Our home is located in the village of Cura, in Kenya, Africa.

Fifty children, ranging in age from 4 to 13 currently live at our Home, thanks to funding from Rotary Clubs in Kenya, Canada, UK and the United States, from the Slum Doctors Programme and from other well-wishers across the globe.
At Cura Orphanage we are committed to providing a loving home for our children, where they find safety, health and a new family.
Our children attend the local pre- and primary schools, and we strive at our Home to be an integral part of our local village. Cura is a place where hope has a place to grow.
