In 1994, a prophecy that had been kept for 19 generations by The Lakota People was fulfilled with the birth of a White Buffalo. With a blessing from Lakota Chief Arvol Lookinghorse, The White Buffalo Children’s Foundation in New Orleans, along with Living Folklore, Inc. (an Arizona-based arts, education, and entertainment company) have worked together for 10 years to share the vision of cultural unity and healing through art, pageantry, and public ceremony. Now, with your help, Living Folklore is pleased to present this growing story of healing and regeneration through online videos at culturecollective.org.
The videos are educational, and document the work of cultural creatives who are finding innovative ways to integrate science, art, and indigenous wisdom to create a culture of peace and healing. Categories include Indigenous Wisdom/Prophecy, Art/Culture, Children/Family, Environment/Sustainability, Health/Healing.
The purpose of the website is to inspire hope and encourage people to get involved in creating a culture of healing and regeneration. Our concern is for the future generations and our planet. Culture Collective is a place where voices and wisdom from all cultures are welcome, it is a refuge from the bombardment of disturbing news that too often fills the airways, it is a place to cultivate dreams.
