Kyra Thompson is an award-winning filmmaker. She has produced numerous documentary films for PBS, CNN, TBS, TNT and other networks.
She was nominated for an Emmy, an Independent Spirit Award and a DGA award for her work on Dying to Tell the Story. She wrote, produced and directed two films for the acclaimed American Masters series on PBS: Bob Newhart — Unbuttoned and Carol Burnett — A Woman of Character. She also wrote and Co-Executive Produced Craft in America, a multi-part series for PBS. Among her other credits are Stand Up, Soldiers of Peace; Global Tribe; The Good, The Bad, and The Beautiful and the landmark series A Century of Women.
