Joey Borgogna spent much of his young life as a theatre actor in his hometown of San Diego before moving to Los Angeles and graduating from Annenberg's School for Communication at the University of Southern California, where he was a re-founding father of the Alpha Upsilon chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity, an active campus leader through the University Ambassador Pepster Program, and a study abroad student in London. He became the first American invited by Mountains Youth Theater to direct a main stage play at the prestigious Q Theatre in Penrith, Australia and has also performed and produced in Central Mexico, Kenya, and throughout the Los Angeles theatre circuit. He is a current mentor for the Annenberg School for Communication undergraduate and graduate students.

Before joining the team at Creative Visions Foundation as VP of Productions and Outreach, he produced The Playground, a powerful rock-drama inspired by the true lives of teenage runaways and homeless youth, through Creative Visions fiscal sponsorship program. Joey has also worked in conjunction with Dokument Films to document the youth arts exchange program, Children Mending Hearts, in DR Congo, and most recently, a compelling educational pilot about the conservation of Sharks in Baja California. He has traveled as curator and keynote speaker with the Dan Eldon Traveling Art and Photography Exhibition to high schools and universities and is responsible for the pilot installations of creative activist student chapters throughout the United States. As he continues to invest in young people becoming and sustaining themselves as the artists, activists and adventurers that they recognize in the life of Dan Eldon, Joey's multi-layered years of experience with Creative Visions provides valuable insight and resources for the development of the Dan Eldon Center for Creative Activism.
