Jacoba Atlas is a filmmaker and broadcast executive with an extensive background in writing and production. For six years, Coby was a senior vice president for Programming at PBS, overseeing more than 300 hours of programs and a budget of 150 million dollars. She was instrumental in bringing the Tony Hillerman mystery series to PBS (with executive producer Robert Redford) and American Family with executive producer and writer/director Gregory Nava. She also developed the award winning news and information series NOW with Bill Moyers and Flashpoints with Gwen Ifil and Bryant Gumbel as well as the reality series History Detectives.

Prior to joining PBS, Jacoba Atlas was an executive and producer with CNN and Turner Broadcasting. In that capacity she developed News Stand and supervised documentaries such as the Emmy winning film, Survivors of the Holocaust with executive producer Steven Spielberg, The Last Days of King and Kennedy with executive producer Oliver Stone, Dying to Tell the Story, Soldiers of Peace and The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful. She was also the writer and executive producer of the multi-part series A Century of Women. Prior to joining Turner, Jacoba Atlas was the west coast producer and then Senior Producer of TODAY for NBC News.
