Creative Activist Interns: Summer 2009
The foundation has been a hotbed of activity this summer due to the arrival of a team of college students who joined Joey Borgogna and Kat Fowler at the CVF Sunset Plaza office. Their responsibilities included public relations and marketing, archiving Dan’s images and artwork, creative writing, event planning and research. Huge thanks to Tess Porter, Katja Nelson, Zoe Weintraub, Kelly Sims, Sarah Harris and Joti Porier. We are deeply grateful to Dani Johnson for her generous donation that made this summer internship program possible.

Sierra Canyon High School Exhibition

This May, Sierra Canyon High School hosted a special screening of “Dying to Tell The Story” where both Kathy and Amy Eldon and LA Times photographer Michael Robinson-Chavez spoke. The event marked the kick off the Dan Eldon Traveling Exhibit at the school, along with the first ever Creative Activists Chapter program. This program is a collaboration between students and faculty at Sierra Canyon and Creative Activists within the CVF Partner’s Program. Creative Visions plans to pilot this project for the next six months with the goal of replicating the model in schools and universities all over the country.

A Cause For Comedy

As the old saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine." To aid that effort, Causecast is proud to present A Cause for Comedy where proceeds benefit a different charity each month. This month we'll be raising money for Creative Visions Foundation - an excellent organization in the LA area that supports "Creative Activists" - individuals who use the power of media and the arts to create positive change in the world.

A Cause for Comedy is hosted by the very funny Ben Morrison (Punk'd). The night will also feature sets by Ben Gleib, Erin Foley, Eric Schwartz, High Moore, and Adam Richmond. This lineup will definitely leave you laughing and for a great cause at that. We hope to see you there!

*Buy your tickets* online now before they sell out for $15! You can also buy a $100 ticket, and receive Dan's book "The Journey is the Destination." Since proceeds benefit Creative Visions Foundation, we've decided to leave it up to you to choose how much you wanted to give.

We look forward to seeing you Thursday for a great evening of laughter, fun and philanthropy!
