A message from creative activist Lysa Heslov...
I have been back from DR Congo for a while now and I am safely ensconced into my secure and protective bubble. I have been furiously planning my future trips and exchanges. Every few minutes, without warning or forethought, a child’s face will pop into my head.
Of the 1,200 children I had the honor of working with, a few faces remain ingrained in my memory – like the little boy in this photograph. I think of their smiling faces, dark eyes that have seen entirely too much, tattered clothes, and their hugs. These are the greatest most loving hugs I have ever experienced, as if the last hug they will ever give or receive.
Children Mending Hearts is sending a goodwill ambassador to Congo in a few weeks, and we have decided to send t-shirts to my kids there in the camps. Their clothes are torn and usually too big for their little hungry bodies. Since there is little access to water, their ability to wash themselves, let alone their clothes, is rare in the camps. I am excited that with YOUR HELP, we will have the ability to give them a nice clean shirt.

Kids in Congo designed the tees during my last trip. I so wish I could be there to see them get their t-shirts.
PLEASE PITCH IN AND HELP SEND A T-SHIRT TO A CHILD IN CONGO!
Peace,
Lysa Heslov
