Max Lubahn began his career working as a Congressional staffer followed by a stint with internet start ups. Looking for something creative, Lubahn went through Second City’s one-year advanced writing program in Chicago. Afterward, he spent a few years in NYC writing feature length scripts, pilots, web shorts, and he also directed a play or two. In 2011, Max moved to LA to develop two scripts with a production company and to sign with an agent and manager.
While trying to prove his viability as a writer, Max was fortunate enough to receive some solid advice and direction, and he hopes to continue receiving such advice and direction. More importantly, he hopes to share his advice and direction. He chose CVF because it offers a resource that would have (and probably still could) benefitted him. Offering guidance to young, aspiring, creative people is a unique way to build community in a competitive industry where information can be scarce. In Max’s words, “It would be a pleasure to share what worked for me with someone coming up and maybe help them avoid some obstacles.”
