Dan Eldon Fellowship

The Dan Eldon Fellowship Program provides mentorship and support to creative activists who are using media and the arts in innovative ways to create positive change.

Our fellowship program recognizes innovation and bold ideas in creative activism. We identify creative activists who are experimenting with new approaches to achieving change through creativity. Fellows receive fiscal sponsorship, mentorship, support and access to a deep network of people, organizations, and professionals to help them compete their projects and scale their models for the greatest impact.  Fellows are selected through various campaigns launched throughout the year.

Our fellows take on social and environmental challenges and use creativity as well as creative tools to inform, inspire and empower. At the same time, they are pushing the envelope, taking risks, and testing new ways to use media and the arts.

Through their projects, they demonstrate for us new models for “change through creativity.”

Because of their potential to inspire and teach other creative activists, we elect them as fellows and provide active mentorship, support and funding to help them complete their projects and achieve measurable impact.

The fellowship was created in memory of Dan Eldon, a Reuters photojournalist who was killed on assignment in Somalia at the age of 22. His photography and artistic journals have inspired many individuals to use their creativity for a higher purpose.

We’ve designed the Dan Eldon Fellowship program to serve creative activists like Dan and the causes they care about.
